What is RPA?

RPA stands for Robotic Process Automation. It is a technology that enables the automation of simple, rule-based processes using software. RPA can be viewed as a virtual robot that takes over tasks from employees in the background. This allows employees to focus on more valuable activities for the organization and its customers.

RPA can be applied to many different types of processes, such as administrative, financial, and IT support tasks. Many of these processes are still performed manually by employees, which is time-consuming and costly. With RPA, a software robot can, for example, process invoices, send confirmation emails, transcribe data, retrieve information, and much more.

RPA operates on the 'if-then' principle: the robot knows how to act in a given situation based on the rules set in its software. However, the robot cannot think on its own or handle deviations or exceptions. It can only mimic the repetitive actions of a human, but not human logic or thinking.

Therefore, RPA is a technology designed to save costs and time, improve the quality of products and services, and gain a competitive edge.
